Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for Saturday night’s Premier League action as they welcome bottom-feeders Wolverhampton Wanderers to North London.
Spurs head into the game on the back of a comprehensive 3-0 win against Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Cup and will now face reigning champions Newcastle United in round four.
For now, Thomas Frank and his troops will be keen to continue their fine start to the season.
They’re unbeaten in their last four games across all competitions and will fancy their chances of winning back-to-back games when they take on Wolves.
However, Frank will be without a few of his players for the upcoming fixture.
How Tottenham could line up
Antonin Kinsky made two saves and kept a clean sheet against Doncaster, but Guglielmo Vicario will likely take over between the sticks.
Frank heavily rotated his squad for the League Cup clash, with Joao Palhinha slotting into defence alongside Kevin Danso, but he should return to a more familiar backline against Wolves.
First choice partnership of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven should return to the heart of the defence, flanked by Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie.
With the back four returning to normal, Palhinha should push up into his more familiar midfield role alongside Lucas Bergvall and Pape Matar Sarr.
Sarr missed the midweek EFL Cup win against Doncaster due to a thigh injury. But Frank confirmed in his pre-match press conference that his omission was only precautionary.
The Senegalese midfielder should be fine to face Wolves, but Frank still has a couple of injury woes to worry about at the top end of the pitch.
The Danish head coach confirmed that both Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani will miss the game against Wolves.
Solanke has been involved in team training, but Saturday’s fixture will come too soon for the Englishman, while Kolo Muani is struggling to shake off a dead leg.
In their absence, Richarlison should continue to lead the line, with Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus providing support from the flanks.
Predicted XI;
(4-3-3): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Palhinha, Bergvall; Kudus, Richarlison, Simons
