Mousa Dembele’s agent is in Italy to meet Serie A clubs Juventus, Inter and Napoli ahead of a potential Tottenham Hotspur exit this summer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Belgium maestro has been a critical player for Spurs over the years having signed from Fulham for £15 million back in 2012.
Dembele’s ability to dribble, create and enforce in the middle of the Tottenham team has made him a firm fans’ favourite.
However, with the deep-lying playmaker’s contract having only 12 months left on it, there is real speculation over his future.
Tottenham are seemingly set to tie down a host of their key men to new deals this summer, with Harry Kane penning a new six-year contract recently.
Dembele will surely be a player Daniel Levy will hold talks with also, but it may well be that the club is eyeing a final opportunity to make some money out of selling him.
The Belgian turns 31 next month and after a stellar season with Tottenham, his value will never be higher.
As a fan, I’d love Dembele to stay given just how effective he is when fit and in the mood.
Should he go, replacing his unique skillset will be a big task for Tottenham this summer, although Harry Winks seems like the Belgian’s natural successor.
