Alejo Veliz leaves Tottenham on loan for Rosario Central

Tottenham Hotspur have ramped up preparations for next season, with the club working on a deal to sign Mohammed Kudus.

While incomings will be the priority, Spurs will also be planning for outgoings, including outright sales and loan deals.

The North London outfit has announced that striker Alejo Veliz has joined Rosario Central on loan for the 2025/26 campaign.

Veliz joined Spurs from the Primera Division side in August 2023 but failed to deliver in Tottenham colours. He managed only eight senior appearances, scoring once.

In truth, there was never enough for Tottenham to take the punt on Veliz. He had made 62 appearances for the Argentine Primera Division side in all competitions, netting 19 goals.

The 21-year-old forward spent the past two seasons on loan in La Liga with Sevilla and Espanyol but did not do enough to warrant a permanent transfer or play a back-up role to Dominic Solanke.

Veliz returns to his native Argentina, where he will link up with Angel Di Maria. Hopefully, he impresses there enough to convince them to sign him permanently.

Spurs need to enter the market for another centre-forward to push Solanke, who underwhelmed following his £65 million switch from AFC Bournemouth.

One of the more exciting names Tottenham have been linked to is Brentford ace Yoane Wissa, whom Thomas Frank knows from their time together at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Richarlison is set to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, and a replacement should be atop the transfer wishlist.

There were links to Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, and Tottenham should follow their interest in the Frenchman with an offer (view).

Kalimuendo is a capable alternative to Solanke and can also fill in on the left or right if Frank needs to add firepower up top.

He will also cost less than Wissa, who reportedly has a £40 million price tag.
