Tottenham Hotspur claimed a comfortable 3-0 win over West Ham United, with Spurs making light work of their London rivals.
Tottenham should have taken the lead via Cristian Romero when he steered in a corner, but the officials inexplicably ruled it out. That did not stop the North Londoners.
Spurs would take the lead through another corner as Pape Matar Sarr headed in at the back post.
Moments later, West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek received a red card, and from the resulting move, Lucas Bergvall doubled the lead with a terrific looping header.
Bergvall turned provider for the third goal, setting up Micky van de Ven to stroke in the nail in the coffin as Spurs moved up to third on the Premier League table.
Several players looked fantastic for Tottenham, but Bergvall’s performance earned him the Man of the Match award on his first Premier League start this season.
The Swedish star bagged a goal and an assist. He also won two of his four aerial and three of his six ground duels.
The 19-year-old completed 24/27 passes (89% accuracy) and his two attempted long balls (100%).
His one attempted dribble was also successful. He made two tackles and one key pass. Football London hailed his ‘industrious performance’, rating him 8/10.
For new Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, Bergvall could become a game-changer this season.
The teenager’s blend of technical quality, physicality, and relentless work rate gives Spurs an extra edge in midfield.
What stood out most against West Ham wasn’t just his numbers, but the maturity in his performance, timing his runs, linking play, and never shying away from defensive responsibility.
Crucially, his end product already looks sharp, with a goal and assist showing he can influence games in the final third.
If he maintains this level, Bergvall can be a real weapon in Frank’s system, driving Spurs towards what could be a remarkable campaign.
