Borussia Dortmund eye transfer swoop for Tottenham starlet Mikey Moore

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for a pivotal summer transfer window. Unfortunately, Spurs will not get much financial input from owners ENIC.

The North Londoners must sell some assets to fund moves for their transfer targets. One player who could leave is defender Cristian Romero.

The Argentine is a top target for Atletico Madrid, and they plan on swooping for him. The windfall will bolster the Spurs coffers, but they will need more.

And if recent reports are to be believed, Tottenham might be considering cashing in on young star Mikey Moore.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund are considering a move for Moore after adding him to their shortlist. They have spoken with his agent.

The report also mentions that he is more likely to join another Premier League club, but Dortmund are queuing for his signature.

Moore came to the limelight this season with injuries decimating the team. Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou gave him an opportunity, and he grabbed it with both hands.

Moore broke several appearance records this season and showed glimpses of his immense talent.

He also became England’s youngest-ever scorer in a major European competition following his solo goal against IF Elfsborg in the UEFA Europa League.

Tottenham playmaker James Maddison even compared him to Neymar after his performance against Ferencvaros.

In our opinion, it makes no sense to sell Moore after his excellent outings for Tottenham this season.

If the report is true, someone at Spurs needs their head checked. Letting go of a talent like Moore, especially after he has proven himself on a big stage, is downright reckless.

You don’t hand a teenage prodigy his debut, watch him dazzle, and then toss him aside for a quick buck.

That is how you end up spending the next decade wondering what could have been while watching him light it up elsewhere.

Hopefully, the reports are wide of the mark, as it would be silly to let go of the Spurs academy graduate.
