Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has picked out Dele Alli for specific praise ahead of this Saturday’s Premier League clash with West Bromwich Albion.
The England international midfielder has been in fine form over recent weeks and capped a fine Christmas period by scoring a brace of headers in the 2-0 win over Chelsea at White Hart Lane.
Alli appears to be thriving in Pochettino’s three-man defensive system, which allows him the freedom to play off striker Harry Kane.
The Spurs boss has stated that the former MK Dons man is an important player for the North London side and has impressed in recent weeks.
“Dele is performing well, scoring a lot of goals and helping the team to achieve our objectives,” Pochettino told the club’s official website.
“We have talked a lot in the last few weeks about him but I think it’s fair to talk about him because he is showing fantastic and great performances every time that he has the chance to play.”
Pochettino will hope that Alli can continue his strong recent form against West Brom on Saturday, with the midfielder scoring in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
The young star has 10 Premier League goals this term and is maturing into a real superstar for the North London club.
