Tottenham Hotspur recorded victory in the North London Derby on Saturday, with a Harry Kane second-half header securing a 1-0 win over a lacklustre Arsenal at Wembley.

While the first-half was relatively even and cagey, Mauricio Pochettino’s men raised their game in the second 45 to create chance after chance.

Tottenham should really have scored more, with plenty of gilt-edge opportunities for the hosts to put the game out sight.

Dele Alli was certainly guilty of missing one of those opportunities, with the Spurs attacker through on goal but fluffing his lines as Petr Cech approached.

That said, despite the miss, the versatile Tottenham forward put in a strong performance and must be praised for his showing.

Most would agree that Alli has not shown the same blistering form for Spurs this season as he did last term.

However, in recent games the Tottenham man has looked back to close to his best, with his work-rate, movement off the ball and energy all admirable.

Alli has also been guilty of coughing up possession cheaply this season, but in the last few games this appears to have been stamped out.

The Tottenham star took to Twitter in the aftermath to celebrate the victory, with the club’s fans responding to his tweet and praising his performance.

Alli will be an important man as Spurs look to progress in the Champions League, secure a top-four Premier League place and fight for silverware.

If he can continue to show the same level of consistency that he has displayed in recent weeks, any talk of a blip in form will be eradicated – here are the best comments from the Tottenham fans.
