Destiny Udogie drops a stinker as Tottenham lose 5-1 to Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur slumped to a humiliating 5-1 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday as Arne Slot’s men wrapped up the Premier League title.

Spurs were not expected to come away with maximum points from Anfield, but a total capitulation also looked unlikely.

Tottenham made a positive start as striker Dominic Solanke headed them into an early lead.

However, that sparked a stunning response from the Reds who struck three goals before the end of the first-half.

There was no comeback for the Lilywhites in the second-half as Liverpool added two more to draw level with Manchester United on 20 titles.

Tottenham’s whole focus is on the Europa League, where they will take on Bodo/Glimt for a semi-final first leg at home on Thursday.

But the heavy defeat at the hands of Liverpool is not the best preparation for Ange Postecoglou’s men ahead of the crucial fixture in North London.

Worst Tottenham player against Liverpool

There were many disappointing performances in Sunday’s defeat, but Destiny Udogie was probably the worst player for the visitors yesterday.

The Italian endured a torrid time against Mohamed Salah who easily cut inside to score his 33rd goal of the season.

Under pressure from Salah, Udogie capped off a disappointing display by turning the ball into his own net in the 69th minute.

The 22-year-old had 54 touches in the game and completed 24 of his 29 passes (83% accuracy). He was dribbled past once, and won zero aerial duels.

However, the left-back registered three tackles, two interceptions and a clearance to his name.

Udogie has been an important player for Spurs this season, with the Italian starting 23 matches in the English top-flight.
