Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing a left-sided attacker despite acquiring Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich following his loan spell in North London.
Spurs still have Wilson Odobert on the books, and even though speculation about his future continues to swirl, captain Son Heung-min remains at the club.
All this has not stopped Tottenham from pursuing left-wingers. Tottenham were priced out of a move for Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo.
Spurs are now interested in signing Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze. He has been a long-term target of the club, but other teams are also vying for his signature.
However, Tottenham have received a massive boost in their bid to sign the England international this summer.
According to the Mirror, Tottenham ‘believe Eze would be keen on the switch’ to Spurs despite interest from other parties.
Newcastle United and Aston Villa are sniffing around Eze, but with UEFA Champions League football, Spurs can fend off the competition for his signature.
Palace also want to keep Eze, who helped them to their FA Cup title, scoring the only goal in the final. Manager Oliver Glasner is a fan and holds him in high regard.
Glasner said (via the Independent), “Who is a better player than Eze? For me, he is absolutely top.
“He is always dangerous because he has the quality and ability at 1-1. He is such an unbelievable finisher.”
Semenyo vs Eze: Who should Tottenham sign – View

While Eze is a fantastic player, the decision to sign him comes down to a matter of profiles.
He loves to play almost as an inside forward, while Semenyo is a pure wide man, which is what Spurs need right now.
Eze, playing inside, can clash with James Maddison in the attacking midfield position. Spurs will be better served signing a player who can hold the width.
The stats point to Eze being the better player, but profile-wise, Semenyo is what the club should be looking for.
Also, it is worth noting that Eze’s £68 million release clause is only £2 million cheaper than the reported asking price for Semenyo. Tottenham need to pay up and get their man.
