Tottenham Hotspur confirmed the signing of Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on Monday – with two former Lilywhites players taking to social media to react to the news.
Spurs manager Jose Mourinho is clearly a big fan of the 25-year-old Scandinavian battler, who becomes the first major signing for the North London club ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
Hojbjerg impressed at Southampton and Tottenham fans will hope he can make our side tougher to break down and speed up the side’s play while in possession.
Spurs have confirmed the new man will take the number 5 shirt – previously worn for many years by fan favourite Jan Vertonghen.
Super Jan was quick to react on Twitter as the news was unveiled, admitting it was strange to see another Tottenham player taking his number.

Another player Hojbjerg will know well is international team-mate Christian Eriksen, who left Spurs in January to join Inter Milan.
