Harry Kane matches Thierry Henry’s goal tally

Tottenham’s Harry Kane scored his 58th and 59th goals in his 100th league appearance for the club in the recent 4-1 drubbing of Watford at Vicarage Road – and in doing so, equalled arch-rivals Arsenal legend Thierry Henry’s tally of goals scored in the first 100 league appearances.

The England international has enjoyed a meteoric rise since his emergence into the Spurs team in 2014, encapsulated by his scoring rate of 0.59 per league game.

Despite Henry being one of Tottenham’s tormenters-in-chief in the mid 2000s, the fact that Kane is in such illustrious company as the Frenchman will only serve to heighten the optimism from Spurs fans that the 23-year-old can go on to cement himself in Lilywhites history as one of their greatest-ever players.

Having netted eight goals in the past nine league matches, the in-form striker will be looking to add to his season’s tally on Wednesday as Tottenham face-off against leaders Chelsea.
