How Mohammed Kudus has impacted Tottenham’s fast start to the season

Thomas Frank has enjoyed a fantastic start to life as Tottenham Hotspur head coach.

It hasn’t been all rosy and picture-perfect but Tottenham have found a modicum of stability and consistency under his leadership.

Tottenham sit third in the Premier League table heading into October’s international break.

They have picked up 14 points from seven games (W4, D2) and their only defeat of the season came against Andoni Iraola’s high flying Bournemouth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Frank’s side are just one point behind reigning champions Liverpool and two behind arch rivals Arsenal who go into the international break at the summit.

Tottenham have also been one of the most prolific teams in the Premier League this season.

Their 13-goal tally can only be bettered by last season’s runners up Arsenal (14) and 2022/23 treble winners Manchester City (15).

Tottenham’s goals have been scattered across the team but one player who has stood out as the lynchpin of Frank’s side is Mohammed Kudus.

Kudus is the driving force behind Tottenham’s form

Kudus’ £55 million move to Tottenham was a transfer that got the fans off their feet and so far, he has proven to be a value for money addition for Frank and the club.

The Ghanaian forward has registered a goal and five assists in the Premier League and has established himself one of the first names on Frank’s team sheet.

The 25-year-old scored his first goal in a Tottenham shirt in last weekend’s 2-1 victory against Leeds United at Elland Road.

Kudus has played almost every minute of Tottenham’s Premier League campaign so far, creating 13 chances in the league.

Only Everton forward Jack Grealish (17), Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes (17) and Leeds attacking midfielder Anton Stach (14) can top his record.

Kudus contested 18 duels against Leeds and won nine, more than any other player in the game.

He also attempted and completed all of his six dribbles, although he missed a big chance that could have seen him open his goalscoring account with a brace.

After the international break, Kudus will be eager to pick up where he left off when Tottenham host a resurgent Aston Villa side in North London.
