Tottenham Hotspur are in ‘pole position’ to sign Barcelona midfielder Rafinha this summer, according to FCInter News.
The Serie A side are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Roma’s Radja Nainggolan, who would be a big signing for the Milanese outfit.
Rafinha spent last season on loan at Inter but the report suggests a permanent deal is out of the question as the Brazilian wants Champions League football.
Tottenham could certainly offer the Barcelona man that and have been consistently linked with a move for the South American in recent times.
Would the 25-year-old be a good addition for Spurs?
On first inspection, Rafinha fits the bill and looks to have all the attributes that Tottenham look for in potential new additions.
Spurs like to add signing that have a sell-on value, that can improve under Mauricio Pochettino and are versatile enough to play in a number of different roles.
Rafinha has all these qualities and as he is unlikely to get regular football at Barcelona, could be an excellent signing.
With Mousa Dembele’s future at Tottenham up in the air, a move for the Brazilian would make sense – but it remains to be seen just how much he would cost.
