Kevin Wimmer reveals the Tottenham player that has improved this season

Kevin Wimmer believes that his Tottenham Hotspur team-mate, Harry Kane, is a better player than he was last season.

The Austrian defender, who also admitted he was happier on the same team as him rather than as an opponent, is full of praise for the England international, saying he will out-do his Golden Boot-winning year.

“You only have to see what he does every week in the games – I think he’s improved a lot from last season. He was great last season but he’s improved even more,” Wimmer told the club’s official website.

“He can keep the ball so strongly, it’s difficult when you’re behind him. He’s such a strong guy, he protects the ball so well, he’s quick, he’s sharp and, in front of goal, whenever he gets a chance, it’s usually a goal.

“It’s the same in training so it’s always a good feeling in training when we play games and you’re on the same team as him – but not against him!”

The 23-year-old striker scored twice in the 3-2 win over Everton to propel himself to the top of the Premier League scoring charts.

Wimmer had joked with the forward saying that everyone would expect him to score a hat-trick every week.

“I said to him after the [Stoke] game that everybody expects him now to score three goals in every game, otherwise everybody is disappointed,” he said.

Kane’s goals have helped Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side become a real Premier League title contender in recent years, with last seasons effort leading the charts with 25.

The Tottenham manager will be hoping the forward’s striking ability is still as consistent as ever for the remainder of the campaign.
