Kolo Muani disappoints as Spurs slip up against Leeds

Tottenham Hotspur were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Leeds United in the final fixture of matchday 36.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side opened the scoring five minutes into the second half through Mathys Tel, who later went from hero to villain by conceding a penalty for a foul on Ethan Ampadu, which Dominic Calvert-Lewin duly converted.

With West Ham having lost to Arsenal yesterday, the draw edges Spurs closer to safety, but the Lilywhites will feel aggrieved not to have taken maximum points from their penultimate home game of the season.

While the likes of Antonin Kinsky and Conor Gallagher can hold their heads high, Randal Kolo Muani picked the worst possible stage to produce one of his poorest displays of the season.

With 49 touches—the most of any Spurs attacker—the Frenchman saw plenty of the ball but did little of note.

He completed just two of his five dribble attempts and won only three of 15 ground duels.

Kolo Muani is set to leave Tottenham at the end of his loan spell, and the club will be eager to find more effective attacking options ahead of next season.

James Maddison’s return to action was a major positive for Spurs ahead of their final two league matches, the first of which comes against rivals Chelsea.

If West Ham secure all three points against Newcastle United, Tottenham will travel to Stamford Bridge in the relegation zone—and given their record there, things could become bleak quickly for the North Londoners.
