Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker has revealed that academy prodigy Kyle Walker-Peters has been a stand out player whenever he has trained with the first team.
The 19-year-old has yet to make his senior debut for the club but he has recently taken on a new deal meaning he will be with the London side until 2019.
Walker has expressed that he has been particularly impressed with the young prospect and that he deserves the new contract.
“I speak to Kyle on a daily basis, he’s always asking questions,” the 26-year-old told The Independent.
“He’s been fantastic playing in the reserves and whenever he trained with us he’s stood out to be honest. He deserves his new contract.”
Walker-Peters who shares a similar name with his senior teammate also plays the same position at right back. He has been one of the top candidate amongst the youth set up to break into the Spurs first team.
First choice player Walker who is widely regarded as one of the best full-backs currently in the league secured a five-year-deal back in September.
His consistent position in the first team does not necessarily hinder the on-form teenager’s chances especially given the rate of his rapid improvement.
