Mauricio Pochettino believes his Tottenham Hotspur side can still challenge Chelsea for the Premier League title after they defeated Everton 3-2 at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Harry Kane opened the scoring in the first half before adding to his total later in the game. Romelu Lukaku managed to grab a goal back before Dele Alli secured the three points.
However Spurs where in for a scare as Enner Valencia netted a minute later, although it was too late for the Toffees to capitalise on.
The Argentine still believes the Blues can be caught, with his side overcoming Everton and showing the belief within the squad.
“The most important thing is to show the belief on the pitch and today I think we showed that,” Pochettino told the Independent.
“More than talk and more than speak outside, it is better the team show their performance because I think (regarding) belief the answer is very easy.
“We need to be there, it’s not up to us of course, but it’s up to us to be ready if they fail.”
Harry Kane’s goals for Tottenham have taken him to the top of the leaderboard with 19 for the season, something Pochettino and Spurs hope will continue in their quest to catch Chelsea.
