Lucas Moura addition promises exciting Tottenham partnership

Tottenham Hotspur completed a deal to bring Lucas Moura to the club on transfer deadline day, with supporters happy with the addition and looking forward to seeing the Brazilian in action.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has been keen to add pace and strength in depth in the final third, with the big-money deal for the South American seemingly an ideal solution.

Moura brings plenty of Champions League and international experience to Tottenham, with his speed, trickery and ability on the ball newfound assets for the North London side.

However, the potential for a renewed partnership on the right with former Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Serge Aurier is something Spurs fans should be excited about.

Moura and the Tottenham right-back are clearly good friends off the pitch and have plenty of experience of playing together for PSG as a unit on the right flank.

Harbouring this mutual understanding and shared experience will be critical in helping the Brazilian star settle into life at Spurs and aid him on the pitch as the fixtures ramp up over the next month.

Moura is a sublimely talented player on his own, but partnering him with Aurier on the right-hand side of Tottenham’s 4-2-3-1 formation will bring real athleticism, energy and quality to the team.

With the Ivory Coast international looking like Pochettino’s preferred right-back option, this bond between the defender and the new man will surely have entered into the club’s thinking when identifying the Brazilian as a target – smart thinking from the Spurs hierarchy.
