Olaf Rebbe dismisses links with Tottenham

VfL Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe has dismissed reports linking him with a new role at Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester City.

The 38-year-old has been rumoured to be moving to either of the Premier League sides, despite only just acquiring his role within the German side as recently as January.

Rebbe was promoted to the position by Wolfsburg and has immediately made an impact in easing the club’s relegation fears with some shrewd transfer business.

Julian Draxler was sold to Paris Saint-Germain for €36 million in January, which helped the Germans bring in Yunus Malli and Paul-Georges Ntep into the team.

Tottenham have allegedly contacted Rebbe through a middleman as they continue to search for a new technical director.

However, German national newspaper Bild also claims that Manchester City are also very interested in bringing the man to the Premier League.

“That’s not an issue for me,” Rebbe told Kicker.

“Only two months ago, I took on a demanding challenge here at Wolfsburg. Moreover, I demand from everyone here that they commit to VfL, and that includes me, 100 percent.”

Wolfsburg currently find themselves six points clear of the relegation playoff spot in the German Bundesliga.
