New Tottenham Hotspur signing Omar Marmoush has credited head coach Roberto De Zerbi as a key factor in his decision to join the club after completing a move from Manchester City.
Marmoush joins Spurs on an initial season-long loan, with a mandatory obligation to buy for up to £60 million next summer.
His arrival marks another high-profile transfer between Tottenham and Manchester City, following Savio’s £75m switch to North London earlier this week.
Able to play across the front line, Marmoush offers valuable versatility to De Zerbi’s attacking system.
“It feels amazing to be here. I’m so excited to get started with the team, and I can’t wait to meet the fans,” the 27-year-old told Spurs’ official website.
“Tottenham Hotspur is one of the biggest clubs in England, if not the world, and the project was very attractive to me.
“I’ve spoken with the Head Coach, I loved what he had to say, and I’m sure our passion for the game will go very well together.”
Marmoush joined Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for around £59 million but has found himself on the fringes recently.
Seeking guaranteed playing time, he prioritised the move to Spurs after holding direct talks with De Zerbi.
His signing continues Tottenham’s busy summer window, which is not yet over as the club targets one more attacking addition.
With paperwork and registration complete, Marmoush is expected to join first-team training ahead of Tottenham’s upcoming Premier League match against Newcastle United.
Given his record against the Magpies, the Egyptian international will fancy a debut goal if given the chance to feature.
