While all Tottenham Hotspur fans will have an eye on potential new signings over the next month, the transformation from the Mauricio Pochettino era to the Jose Mourinho one will mean current players need to leave North London.
One of those in dire need of finding a new club for the benefit of all parties is Danny Rose.
The England international defender has had a rollercoaster of a time at Tottenham, but this ride has now sure run its course.
From the highs of that goal against Arsenal and playing a critical role in Spurs’ progression under Pochettino, in recent times it has been the lows that have dominated affairs.
His infamous Sun interview and other questionable comments in the press have led to frustration among the Tottenham fans, while his performances on the pitch have not been to the previous standard.
After a loan stint at Newcastle United in the second half of last season, Rose has returned to Spurs and the club must now find a buyer for the veteran defender.
At one point a Pochettino and fans’ favourite, the left-back needs to be upgraded with a younger, hungrier and fresher option.
Importantly, this must be a new player that Mourinho picks, as the club moves away from the Pochettino days – for better or worse.
Rose still has what it takes to play Premier League football and surely a deal to see the defender leave the club this summer will be a priority for Daniel Levy and the Tottenham hierarchy.
