Opinion: Potential Tottenham signing more suited to Pochettino than Mourinho

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a deal to sign Swansea City centre-half Joe Rodon, according to Sky Sports

Despite transfer deadline day passing on Monday night, Premier League sides such as Spurs can still bring players to their clubs from the Football League until October 16.

Tottenham allowed Jan Vertonghen to leave the club at the end of last season and there is a feeling among some supporters that an additional central defender would be the final piece of the squad’s rejuvenation.

Looking at Rodon, the potential Spurs signing looks like a promising prospect, with Tottenham the favourites to sign him at www.onlinecasinosnoop.com

At 22 years old, the centre-half is already a Wales international and is widely acknowledged as one of the most exciting young defenders in the Championship.

Tottenham would also be adding a homegrown player to Jose Mourinho’s squad and one that can improve as he makes the step up to the Premier League.

However, given that Spurs have signed ready-made players this summer in an attempt to focus on this season rather than the future, Rodon feels like a throwback to the Mauricio Pochettino era.

While Tottenham looked to add rising stars to their ranks under the Argentine, Mourinho has preferred to swoop for first-team men that can slot straight into the team.

Adding another youthful, athletic and promising player to the Spurs ranks would be a good move and help to freshen up the contingent in the search of silverware.
