Rangers emerge as favourites to take Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore on loan

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Mikey Moore is attracting interest from Scottish Premiership side Rangers.

Per The Telegraph, Rangers are favourites to snap up Moore on loan from Tottenham. There has been a lot of interest from the Championship, but Rangers are his most likely destination.

Moore broke into the first team last season under former boss Ange Postecoglou.

He earmarked himself as one to watch with some sizzling performances, especially the one against Ferencvaros in the Europa League.

Teammate James Maddison was in awe of the youngster and hailed him as ‘very powerful’, reiterating that the kid has got ‘bags of ability’.

However, game time will be hard for him at Tottenham.

Spurs have Mohammed Kudus, Mathys Tel, Son Heung-min, Wilson Odobert, Richarlison, Brennan Johnson, and Dejan Kulusevski fighting for starting spots.

Spurs left him, Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett behind from the pre-season tour of Asia to pursue loan moves away from north London.

A move to Rangers would be the ideal next step for Moore (View). The Scottish Premiership offers a great balance between physicality and technical challenge.

Rangers can provide a high-pressure environment with European football exposure, something the Championship cannot.

The Gers are currently fighting to get into the UEFA Champions League qualifying tournament.

Under Rangers boss Russell Martin, Moore would be working with a coach who values possession, attacks with intent, and has a strong track record of trusting young players.

That style perfectly aligns with Moore’s strengths, explosive bursts, flair, and quick decision-making in the final third.

If Rangers can offer concrete assurances of regular playing time, then this is the kind of move that could fast-track Moore’s development into a senior-level star.

He wouldn’t be thrown into a sink-or-swim scenario, but placed in a team pushing for silverware in multiple competitions, where every match matters.

That is the sort of education he needs right now. If the minutes are there, Spurs should green-light it.
