Report: Mourinho not interested in 24-goal striker, has other targets

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho does not want to sign Alexander Sorloth, despite Trabzonspor’s chairman recently stating talks were planned with the North London club, according to Football London

Spurs have been linked with a plethora of new centre forwards this summer, with the Portuguese coach impassioned in his call for the club to land an additional attacking option before the transfer window closes on October 5.

Tottenham have been linked with Sorloth, who is on loan at Trabzonspor from Crystal Palace, and scored 24 goals last season in Turkey.

However, Football London suggest the Norwegian is not someone that Mourinho is interested in bringing to Spurs and he wants the club to focus on other potential targets.

Tottenham are overly reliant on Harry Kane, who is the only recognised out-and-out striker in the first-team squad.

With cup fixtures and European games to play this season and Spurs needing the England international to carry the goalscoring burden in the league, an alternative is clearly needed.

Both Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura have led the line for Tottenham when Kane has been injured previously, but this ploy has delivered mixed results.

The Tottenham fans are growing impatient as the rumours swirl and time ticks towards the close of the transfer window.
