Report: Premier League side want Tottenham first-team man

Tottenham Hotspur wideman Ryan Sessegnon is seemingly in demand, with The Sun stating that Newcastle United are the latest side that want to take him on loan for next season.

The Spurs full-back or winger was linked with a temporary switch to Ajax at the weekend, with Jose Mourinho clearly having a decision to make over the England under-21 international’s immediate future.

A poll on White Heart Lane showed that two-thirds of Tottenham fans wanted to send Sessegnon to Ajax for 2020-21, rather than keeping him in North London.

The latest report suggests that Newcastle want to buy British this summer and have identified the Spurs fringe man as a potential off-season recruit.

The North East outfit took Tottenham defender Danny Rose on loan for the second half of last season and appear to want to raid the Lilywhites again.

Ironically, Sessegnon’s immediate future could well be determined by what happens to Rose, with Spurs light on options at left-back after Jan Vertonghen left the club recently.

Tottenham shelled out a cool £25 million to land Sessegnon from Fulham 12 months ago but his first season at the club was broken up by injuries and inconsistency.

First-team football is now required for the Spurs man to live up to his considerable billing – but will it be at Tottenham, Newcastle or Ajax?
