Tottenham Hotspur have been listed by the Daily Mail as harbouring an interest in signing Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic from Barcelona, and James Rodriguez from Real Madrid this summer.
The English tabloid has compiled a list of 10 big-name players set to leave some of Europe’s top clubs in the near future, while listing the teams interested in their respective signings.
Looking at Barcelona, there is no doubting the fact that a clear-out could be on the cards – and Tottenham could certainly benefit.
Rakitic has fallen down the pecking order at Camp Nou and would offer Spurs creativity, experience and quality in midfield.
Tottenham have been linked with Coutinho in the past and the Brazilian will certainly be in demand this summer after impressing last term while on loan at Bayern Munich.
Fulfilling the South American’s wage demands and the absence of Champions League football would surely be obstacles in Spurs’ way of landing the skilful playmaker, though.
Finally, James Rodriguez’s time at Real Madrid looks set to come to an end, with Tottenham listed as a possible destination for the Colombian star.
Spurs fans will be hoping for notable arrivals this summer after the early capture of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg but it remains to be seen whether any of this talented trio will end up in North London.
