Richarlison set to leave Tottenham as Galatasaray move looms

Richarlison could be on his way out of Tottenham Hotspur in the coming weeks, with the Brazilian forward preparing for a fresh start abroad.

According to The Sun, Spurs are ready to cut ties with the 28-year-old, and new manager Thomas Frank has reportedly approved the decision to let him leave.

Richarlison has struggled with injuries and inconsistency throughout his Tottenham career since joining the club from Everton in a deal worth around £60 million back in 2022.

The Brazil international has made 90 appearances for the club over the past three years but has only managed 20 goals and 10 assists across all competitions.

Last season was particularly difficult for Richarlison. He featured 15 times in the Premier League but only started four games, returning four goals and an assist.

In total, he played 24 times across all competitions, returning five goals and two assists, as injuries kept him out for 37 games.

There were rumours of a potential return to Everton, but David Moyes wasn’t interested in bringing him back to Merseyside.

The Toffees are focusing their attention elsewhere, with Newcastle United’s Callum Wilson emerging as a target to replace the outgoing Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Moyes also believes Portuguese striker Beto can step up and lead the line next season. With his Premier League options narrowing, Richarlison is now expected to sign for Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The club had been chasing Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, but that deal has proven complicated. The Turkish giants have now been forced to turn their attention to Richarlison.

Tottenham are believed to be open to letting Richarlison go for around £20m, less than half of what they paid to sign him three years ago. They’re also open to a loan deal.

Richarlison has two years left on his contract with Tottenham. He had interest from Saudi Arabia, but he has been extremely reluctant to move to the Middle East and would rather explore his options in Europe.
