Simon Jordan rips into Tottenham players after North London derby defeat

English businessman and pundit Simon Jordan has ripped into Tottenham Hotspur players following their shambolic performance in the 4-1 thrashing against Arsenal in the North London derby.

It was hardly an ideal game for new interim manager Igor Tudor to make his debut, and he could not have been handed a clearer view of the enormous task on his hands.

Tottenham went behind just after the half-hour mark with Eberechi Eze netting his first Premier League goal since bagging a hat-trick in the reverse fixture at the Emirates Stadium.

Tudor’s side responded almost immediately as Randal Kolo Muani pounced on an error from Declan Rice to draw Tottenham level.

However, Spurs capitulated in the second half as Eze bagged his second goal of the game on either side of a stunning brace from Viktor Gyokeres to ensure Arsenal did the double over their neighbours.

The performance from the Tottenham players was abysmal to say the least as they fell to their 12th league defeat, plunging them deeper into a shocking relegation battle.

Shambolic Tottenham players must step up to turn things around

There has been plenty of finger-pointing since the North London derby, but Jordan has aimed his criticism at the Tottenham players, who are hardly putting in a shift to turn the situation around.

“It’s appalling,” Jordan said (via talkSPORT) on Tottenham’s ongoing relegation battle.

“Whatever you think of Tottenham Hotspur, whatever you think of Daniel Levy, whatever you thought of Thomas Frank, this group of players, this club sitting in 17th in the league is in shambles.

“I know it’s a lot of injuries, and if you look at the side, it was depleted. But there’s still enough quality in that side.

“His [Tudor] job is to get this group of players facing the right way to get them out of the problem that they’ve got themselves into.

“You can blame who you want, but it’s a group of players on a football field performing week in week out at a level that’s way beyond the level of acceptance to Spurs fans.”

Fortunately for Tottenham, their relegation rivals failed to make the most of their slip-up against Arsenal. But they remain dangerously close to the drop zone.

Tudor’s side will visit Craven Cottage to take on Fulham in yet another London derby.

However, the Croatian manager must find a winning formula quickly, with just four points keeping Tottenham out of the bottom three.
