Son Heung-min bids emotional farewell to Tottenham after a decade of memories

Tottenham Hotspur confirmed the departure of club legend Son Heung-min on Wednesday evening, marking the end of a remarkable 10-year spell in north London.

A moving farewell video was shared across the club’s social media, with Son addressing supporters.

“Dear Spurs fans, you’re always in my pictures,” he began, referencing his iconic photo-mime goal celebration.

“Every time I celebrate, I make a memory of you. It’s our moment. I make the frame, so I don’t forget.”

Son has become a modern icon at Tottenham since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015.

He scored 173 goals in 454 appearances, the fifth-highest total in club history. The 33-year-old provided 71 Premier League assists, more than any other Spurs player.

“You welcomed me to north London, you watched me grow,” he continued.

“Beautiful moments; the Golden Boot, the Puskas award… You were there. When I suffered, you were still there. You stayed with me, and I stayed with you.

Son’s decade-long wait for silverware finally ended when he captained the side to a Europa League triumph last term.

“I never imagined captaining this team, but I always dreamed that I would win something for you,” Son said.

“Thank you for these years. Keep every picture. You were always in the frame. Thank you so much, love Sonny.”

The club also released a tribute on the official website, including words from Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

Who should Tottenham sign to replace Son?

Spurs must now replace one of the most clinical finishers in Premier League history and have reportedly set their sight on Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes.

Unfortunately, he is not keen on leaving Los Blancos for north London. Spurs need to go back to the drawing board to find someone capable of taking the mantle.

Manchester United ace Alejandro Garnacho would be a brilliant pick-up, even though he is not yet the finished product. He has all the tools to grow into a lethal winger.
