Spurs fans rave about midfielder’s showing against Juventus: “Unreal”, “Different class”

Tottenham Hotspur came back from 2-0 down to rescue a draw with Juventus on Tuesday evening and fans were pleased with the performance of one of their main men on social media.

Spurs travelled to Turin to take on last year’s Champions League runners-up and found themselves up against it in the early stages of the match.

It took the Old Lady just two minutes to go ahead when Gonzalo Higuain scored from a quickly-taken free-kick with a tidy finish, although replays appeared to suggest he was offside.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino would have been fearing the worst in the tenth minute when he saw his side fall further behind after Ben Davies gave away a penalty.

Higuain stepped up and slotted the ball past Hugo Lloris to double their lead and his tally for the game, however, that appeared to spark Spurs into life.

Harry Kane had a point-blank header saved by Gianluigi Buffon, but moments later he managed to round the Italian legend and put the ball into an empty net.

Tottenham conceded another penalty just moments before the half-time whistle when Serge Aurier made a clumsy challenge, however, Higuain smashed the ball against the crossbar.

Spurs continued to battle hard in the second half and eventually made the home side pay, when Christian Eriksen scored a sublime free-kick, making Buffon commit a costly mistake and finding the back of the net.

Tottenham fans were delighted with the result and will head back to Wembley Stadium confident they can get a result and progress to the next round of the tournament, especially if Mousa Dembele replicates his performance.

Supporters were full of praise for the midfielder’s display in the middle, stating that he had been immense and he was the difference for them in the middle of the park.

Here are some of their reactions:
