Three Eberechi Eze alternatives Tottenham should consider signing amid Arsenal threat – View

Tottenham Hotspur are trying to add firepower to their frontline by signing a new winger, but face a fight to pull their targets to North London.

Bryan Mbeumo chose Manchester United over Tottenham, refusing the possibility of reuniting with his former Brentford boss, Thomas Frank.

Tottenham showed interest in Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze, but now Arsenal have entered the race, and Spurs could miss out on the England international.

However, missing out on Eze is not the end of the world, as there are exciting, cost-effective left-wingers in the market that can have the same impact at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Read on as we analyse three wingers Tottenham can potentially sign instead of Eze this summer.

Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)

If Tottenham can get him to take a pay-cut, Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford could prove a quality addition to the attack. At £40 million, he is worth the punt.

The 27-year-old must be desperate to prove his mettle, and Frank can help him reach his 2022/23 levels again (he bagged 30 goals that season).

Despite enduring a poor campaign, he still managed 11 goals and nine assists in 45 appearances this term. He can be the perfect replacement for the potentially departing Son Heung-min.

Like Son, Rashford loves to dovetail from the left off a striker and can be a devastating force in the final third.

Also, he helps solve the home-grown problem the squad faces. He would be a wise addition.

Christos Tzolis (Club Brugge)

Greek forward Christos Tzolis has flown under the radar after an excellent 2024/25 for Club Brugge, in which he bagged 16 goals and created 16 big chances in the Belgian Pro League.

Tzolis also scored the winner in the Belgian Super Cup. He was equally excellent in the UEFA Champions League, bagging a goal and creating four big chances despite their round-of-16 exit.

The 23-year-old has grown in leaps and bounds since his uninspiring time in England with Norwich City.

He has also been superb for the Greek national team, with six goals and two assists in 24 appearances.

Tzolis is a brilliant winger. Spurs should consider signing him if they cannot get Eze.

Ademola Lookman (Atalanta)

Ademola Lookman looks set to leave Atalanta this summer, with La Dea rebuilding their squad, and Spurs should be at the front of the queue to sign the Nigerian forward.

Lookman is an excellent inside forward who has taken Serie A by storm over the past three seasons, bagging 20 goals and seven assists in 40 appearances this term.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year is a bargain for whichever club gets their hands on him, and Tottenham need to muscle in on his signature.

Lookman is the perfect alternative to Eze and a fantastic replacement for the legendary Son. He came through the Charlton Athletic Academy, meaning he will also count as a home-grown player.

The 27-year-old will reportedly cost around €50 million, and Spurs should make a play to sign him this summer.
