Tottenham are prioritising a number 10 & winger in the remaining days of the window

Tottenham Hotspur have outlined their plans for the remainder of the summer transfer window.

According to Football London correspondent Alasdair Gold, Tottenham want to sign a creative number 10 and a left winger to replace James Maddison and Heung-min Son.

Tottenham were left short on options in attacking midfield after James Maddison tore an anterior cruciate ligament, which has ruled him out for the majority of the season.

The former Leicester City attacking midfielder had a torrid time last year after he was side sidelined for three months

He seemed to have picked up where he left off after rejoining the fold, but his latest setback leaves Tottenham without their most natural link between midfield and attack.

They need someone to plug that gap and initially went all in for Nottingham Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White, but the Tricky Trees blocked the move and even got him to sign a new contract.

They then turned their attention to Gibbs-White’s England teammate Eberechi Eze, but were beaten to the punch by fierce rivals Arsenal.

Tottenham are also looking for a long-term successor to club legend Son, who left the club to join Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC after a decade in North London.

Thomas Frank wants more options

Tottenham are not short on attackers, but Frank wants another winger to complement summer signing Mohammed Kudus.

Brennan Johnson and Richarlison can play on the left flank, but Frank has decided to stick the latter at centre-forward after his stunning brace against Burnley.

Johnson and Kudus will vie for a spot on the right. That leaves Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert as left wing options, but Frank wants to add at least one more player to fill the void left by Son.

Frank is also open to signing a new centre-back, although he has plenty of options in that position.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are already nailed on starters. Kevin Danso and Radu Dragusin serve as the supporting cast, although the latter is still recovering from a knee problem.

Ben Davies can also fill in at centre-back if required, while Frank has decided to loan out highly rated prodigy Luka Vuskovic to get regular first team minutes elsewhere.

They opened talks to sign Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen, but could miss out on the Ecuadorian, who has made it clear he favours a move to Arsenal.
