Tottenham contact scintillating star’s agent, told to make ‘very high offer’

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Inter Milan’s versatile attacker Ivan Perisic but will have to make a ‘very high offer’ to convince the Italian side to sell him, according to FCInterNews.

Spurs continue to be linked with moves for wingers, with the likes of Anthony Martial and Wilfried Zaha named as reported targets.

Perisic would also fit the mould of what Tottenham are supposedly after – a player to add speed, penetration and energy to the side’s attack.

The report suggests that Spurs have already made contact with the Inter man’s agent, Fali Ramadani, but have been told that the Milanese outfit do not want to sell the Croatia international.

Perisic was supposedly courted by Manchester United last summer but a move did not materialise and he stayed in Serie A.

On the face of it, there are pros and cons for Tottenham in pursuing a player like the Inter man.

Perisic certainly has the skillset to diversify Pochettino’s options in the final third and has proven in Italy, and for his country, that he can be a devastating player at the top level.

However, with the Croat turning 30 early next year, he does not fit the profile of a Daniel Levy signing as there is no real resale value.

Most Tottenham fans would welcome the addition of a proven player like Perisic this summer, but it may be that Martial or Zaha would be a wiser investment and fit into the Pochettino model.
