Tottenham Hotspur could have a crucial decision to make regarding Richarlison’s future this summer.
According to Sky Sports, Everton are weighing up the possibility of a summer reunion and could make their move if they get the green light.
The 27-year-old Brazilian forward left Goodison Park in 2022 in a high-profile £60 million move to North London.
However, Spurs have hardly enjoyed any return on investment three years down the line.
In 87 appearances across all competitions – including Thursday night’s 2-0 win against Bodo/Glimt in Norway – Richarlison has netted just 20 goals.
Even though he has weighed in with an additional 10 assists, his numbers are a far cry from the form that made him a fan favourite on Merseyside.
Richarlison has struggled to stay fit for the most parts of his Spurs career, but this season was a different gravy.
He has hardly contributed to Spurs’ ambitions, with recurring injury woes keeping him out for over 30 games in all competitions.
The Brazilian has only shown flashes of his quality. Even when he’s fit, he has struggled to maintain consistency.
His woeful spell leaves Spurs with a choice to make in the summer, although Everton are extending an olive branch to the Brazilian forward.
David Moyes is reportedly a huge fan of Richarlison.
The Scottish head coach wants Everton to sign a striker ahead of their relocation to the new Everton Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, and Richarlison has emerged as a first-choice target.
There are talks of a potential loan deal structured with an obligation to buy depending on the number of appearances Richarlison makes.
That gives Everton some level of protection given his injury woes, while Spurs also get a chance to recoup some of their initial investment if Richarlison hits his stride in Toffee colours.
The Brazilian enjoyed a four-year stint with Everton after joining from Watford for around £50m.
He scored 53 goals in 152 appearances and was a talisman in their efforts to secure Premier League status.
