Tottenham fans praise fringe player after Fulham win – “Immense”, “Lethal”

Tottenham Hotspur beat Fulham at Wembley Stadium 3-1 on Saturday and fans were delighted with the performance of one of their men on social media.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side have started their Premier League campaign with back-to-back wins and he will have been pleased to get a result against their London rivals.

Tottenham started off well and found the opening goal of the game just before the half-time whistle when Lucas Moura netted his first top-flight strike for the club.

They were quickly pegged back shortly after the restart when Aleksandr Mitrovic levelled the tie, however, Spurs managed to turn the gears and get themselves back in front.

A three-minute brace from the home side ensured Tottenham would take the three points when both Kieran Trippier and Harry Kane both found the back of the net.

Spurs fans were pleased with the way their team played during the course of the game and were particularly impressed with one man’s performance.

Tottenham supporters took to Twitter to praise Erik Lamela’s display after he came on as a second-half substitute.

The Argentine, who has struggled with injury during his time at the north London outfit, had a hand in Kane’s goal and the White Hart Lane faithful were loving his contribution on the field.

Some stated that they had felt he had been one of their most underrated players and believed he made an instant impact when he came off the Tottenham bench.

In terms of strength in depth, having the ability to call upon a £30 million Argentina international as a substitute is an excellent option for Spurs.

Lamela could well be an important player for Tottenham if he can stay fit, with the South American clearly able to make a difference with his pace and trickery.
