Tottenham interested in Frankfurt keeper Kaua Santos after Europa League display

Tottenham Hotspur are already planning for the summer transfer window as Spurs look to put this abhorrent 2024/25 season behind them.

The Tottenham hierarchy has reportedly started discussing transfer targets to get a headstart over other suitors.

Filling the gaping holes in attack, defensive midfield, and the rearguard is a must. The roster could also use reinforcement at left-back.

Now, it appears that Tottenham are also considering a goalkeeper. According to Sport Bild, Spurs have taken an interest in Eintracht Frankfurt keeper Kaua Santos, whom they got to scout first-hand last week.

Per the report, Tottenham technical director Johan Lange spoke with his Frankfurt counterpart about the Brazilian keeper, who caught the eye with impressive saves during the clash.

Santos has deputised for stalwart Kevin Trapp and looks excellent between the sticks. Die Adler has slapped a €60 million price tag on the shot-stopper amid interest from Spurs and Manchester United.

Tottenham do not need a new goalkeeper this summer – View

Tottenham first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario did not cover himself in glory during the loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend. He has also been sloppy since his return from a lengthy lay-off.

However, there is no reason for Spurs to consider signing another keeper. Vicario only needs a reset to get back to top form, and even if he doesn’t, the club already has Czech Republic goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky waiting in the wings.

Frankfurt are most likely trying to use Spurs to generate interest in their goalkeeper so they can sell him for big money.

Vicario was one of the revelations of the team last year and should get a chance to prove himself. If he does not, Kinsky will be ready to take the starting berth.

Tottenham need to focus their limited funds on other areas of the pitch that are more pressing.
