Tottenham man set for exit, ready to rejoin former club

Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen could be set to rejoin Fenerbahce on another season-long loan, according to Turkish newspaper Fanatik.

The Netherlands international has not lived up to the hype since joining Spurs from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2016, with the targetman not fitting in at the North London club.

With opportunities to play limited due to the presence of Harry Kane, Tottenham loaned Janssen out to Fenerbahce last season for the campaign.

The Dutch striker struggled with injuries and did not feature regularly for the Turkish side, but the Istanbul giants are seemingly set to renew their interest in the Spurs man.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that Janssen is not part of his plans, with the centre forward seemingly free to find a new club.

For Spurs, getting the Netherlands international off the payroll seems like the most-sensible option.

As Tottenham look to establish themselves as a power in both England and on the continent, it seems unlikely that Janssen will ever play a role in the side’s first-team plans again.

As such, while a loan move could suit the player, an outright sale would surely be a better option for Spurs this summer.
