Tottenham Hotspur will likely focus their summer transfer window on adding steel to the engine room and more spine to the defence.
However, Spurs might need to refresh their attack, with Richarlison likely leaving. There is also the right-wing conundrum.
Dejan Kulusevski now plays in midfield, and Brennan Johnson runs the reins on the right, meaning Tottenham might be in for another winger.
Spurs have been linked with Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling. The North London outfit even made a £35 million bid for the 19-year-old in January, but the Saints did not bite.
Several clubs, including Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig, have now entered the race for the teenage phenom.
Per Florian Plettenberg, RB Leipzig remain interested in signing Dibling this summer, and even though Spurs are keen, they are now outsiders in the race for his signature.
However, Southampton’s asking price is proving difficult for most clubs. They refuse to reduce their valuation despite getting relegated, and Spurs face a fight to capture Dibling.
Tottenham should move on to other targets – View
While Dibling is very talented, other wingers in the transfer market can do a better job while coming at a much more sensible fee.
Strasbourg star Dilane Bakwa should be atop the Spurs shortlist after a sensational Ligue 1 campaign in which the 22-year-old, who has massive room for improvement, scored four goals and created 11 big chances in 25 league appearances.
Former Tottenham academy star Noni Madueke is another Spurs must consider this summer, with Chelsea planning a mega sale. The England international is on the cusp of excellence but needs a stable environment to shine.
Bakwa and Madueke will likely not cost close to the ludicrous £55 million price tag Southampton have placed on Dibling. They are also more equipped physically and ready to contribute to the first team.
