Tottenham Hotspur already have their eye on a second winter transfer target after bringing in Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid.
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are plotting a shocking move for West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville as Thomas Frank looks to bolster his attacking options.
The Dutchman has emerged as a player Spurs are considering as they search for solutions on the left side of their frontline.
Tottenham failed to bring in a competent winger to replace club legend Heung-min Son, who moved to Major League Soccer in the United States last summer.
To make matters worse, Tottenham have also cashed in on Europa League hero Brennan Johnson, who joined Crystal Palace in a £35 million deal earlier in the window.
Tottenham have now turned their attention to Summerville, who joined the Hammers from Leeds United in a deal worth around £25m in the summer of 2024.
Tottenham’s interest in Summerville sums up their lack of ambition
When Tottenham replaced Ange Postecoglou with Thomas Frank at the start of the season, the club claimed they wanted to challenge on all fronts.
However, their decision-making since that ambitious declaration makes for grim reading, starting with making Gallagher their first winter addition.
The ex-Chelsea star is nowhere near what Tottenham need to improve their midfield, and he’s hardly an upgrade on their current roster.
Following that shocking signing with a surprise bid for Summerville makes it clear that the decision-makers have lost the plot.
Their interest in Summerville comes after his impressive performance in the 2-1 defeat against West Ham, where he scored the opening goal.
However, that was only his second goal for West Ham since October 2024, when the Hammers claimed a shocking 2-1 home win against Manchester United.
Summerville hasn’t even proven himself at West Ham. Aside from spending the majority of his spell injured, he has scored just three goals in 40 games for the Hammers.
Tottenham need at least one goalscoring winger, and Summerville doesn’t check that box, so making any bid for him would be a ludicrous move.
