Tottenham ready to offload ‘fringe’ duo, they cost Spurs £48m – surely not…

Tottenham Hotspur are making a move for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha but will offload ‘fringe’ players Lucas Moura and Serge Aurier this summer, according to The Sun.

Spurs are yet to make any signings during this window and the fans are getting impatient and frustrated by the lack of business in North London.

While adding Zaha to the Tottenham ranks would be a welcome addition, talk of Moura or Aurier leaving the club is just ridiculous.

The pair, who both joined from Paris Saint-Germain, cost a combined £48 million and the Brazilian winger has only been at the club since January.

Moura has been in sublime form in pre-season and is likely to play a key role for Tottenham this term, especially early in the campaign when Mauricio Pochettino is potentially without some of the club’s World Cup stars.

Aurier meanwhile will almost definitely be in the starting XI for the Premier League opener against Newcastle next weekend as Kieran Trippier is given time off.

Let’s hope that the Zaha speculation is true, but given the outlandish commentary on Moura and Aurier’s futures, I’m not holding my breath.
