Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane says he is happy to be called one of the best in the world and believes he has earned the label through his impressive statistics.
The talented striker recently picked up his third hat-trick in nine game, breaking his 100 career-goals milestone in the process.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was over the moon with the 23-year-old’s performance and hailed the striker for being up there as one of the best in the world.
Kane, who leads the Premier League scoring charts this term, feels that the praise is well deserved.
“I feel that if you look at my stats, my goals, then I’m up there.” The Independent quotes him as saying.
“If you guys want to print that (I’m one of the best in the world), I’m more than happy to have that. I’ve just got to keep doing what I’m doing.”
When asked if he believed he had silenced the sceptics, he responded with “Yeah, that motivates me.”
The England international has surpassed the 20-goal mark for the third season in a row and was the Premier League’s leading goalscorer last term with 25 strikes.
The on-form forward was once written off as a one-season wonder during his first season but is now well under way to retain the Golden Boot award.
