Tottenham team news: Club confirm first-team quartet doubtful for Leicester clash

Tottenham Hotspur go into the final day of the 2017-18 Premier League season able to finish third with victory over Leicester City at Wembley.

In our last game at the national stadium ahead of a move to our new home next term, Mauricio Pochettino will hope that three points can be recorded to end the campaign in a positive fashion.

Tottenham have confirmed the team news on their official website, with doubts over four first-team men.

Pochettino has confirmed that Kieran Trippier is a doubt after taking a kick in the midweek win over Newcastle United, while Serge Aurier is also struggling with a hamstring issue.

As such, Tottenham could have both of their recognised right-backs out, which would pose a dilemma for the Spurs boss.

Mousa Dembele is also a doubt with an ankle complaint, while Harry Winks will not be ready to feature until next season.

Finally, Victor Wanyama’s hamstring is “a bit tight” and will be assessed before the game, meaning Tottenham are again short of options in the centre of midfield – but Eric Dier should play.

Finishing third or fourth may not make much of a difference when the campaign is looked back upon, but winning today and taking the higher place would be a positive outcome.

While it may be the last time Tottenham have a home league game at Wembley, it may also be the last time that Spurs fans see a player or two in our colours.

Most supporters wouldn’t shed a tear if the likes of Moussa Sissoko and Fernando Llorente were offloaded this summer, but question marks surround the futures of Danny Rose, Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele also.

Let’s finish the season well, play attacking football and get a win to go into the summer in a positive mindframe – COYS.
