Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino on the club’s official website has confirmed that Christian Eriksen, Hugo Lloris and Danny Rose are all in contention to feature in Wednesday night’s crucial Premier League game against Manchester United.
Spurs welcome a fellow top-four hopeful to Wembley for the midweek clash, in what kicks off an important run of fixtures for the North London outfit.
Tottenham were without both Eriksen and Lloris for their last Premier League game, with the pair absent in a 1-1 draw against Southampton at St Mary’s.
However, Spurs have been boosted by the news that the duo have overcome illness, with both surely slotting straight back into the starting XI.
Rose has been on the sidelines with a knee injury but after participating in Tottenham training of late, Pochettino has stated that the left-back is in contention to play.
However, with Ben Davies having a good season, the England international may well have to make do with a place on the Spurs bench.
Toby Alderweireld continues his rehabilitation after a hamstring strain but will not play, while the game also comes too soon for injured Tottenham duo Serge Aurier and Harry Winks.
While there are games against Liverpool, Arsenal and Juventus to play over the next fortnight, Pochettino cannot think about resting players or the challenges that lie ahead.
Tottenham can close the gap between themselves and second-placed United to five points with victory at Wembley, while a win would also create a six-point gap between the Lilywhites and Arsenal.
Spurs need to go into the game full of confidence and belief, with Pochettino’s men proving that they can beat just about anyone when in the mood.
Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid have all been comprehensively defeated by Tottenham at Wembley this season – with a number of common traits acting as catalysts for victory.
In all three games, Spurs came out of the blocks quickly, were aggressive and the players immediately switched on to the job at hand.
Despite United’s quality, Tottenham should go into the game as favourites and if the home side approach the game with the right mentality, three points will follow.
What a deluded journo you are. Spurs are looking awful at this moment in time and with the players coming back from illness not match fit United have to be favourites for this encounter. That’s coming from a Spurs supporter. I hope I’m wrong.
