Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed on the club’s official website that Harry Winks will not be ready to feature against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday and Mousa Dembele is a major doubt.
The England international has been on the sidelines for the last few months, in what has been a frustrating campaign for the deep-lying playmaker.
Dembele has had debilitating knocks at times through the campaign and the Tottenham talisman is nursing a twisted ankle currently.
Spurs go into the game facing a desperate opponent, with West Brom still mathematically able to stay up – but the Baggies need to win at The Hawthorns.
Tottenham will finish third at least if they win their remaining three games and Mauricio Pochettino will demand an improved performance to the languid display in beating Watford 2-0 on Monday night.
Presuming Dembele will not be fit to play, it leaves Spurs’ options in the centre of midfield lacking, but the predicted starting XI is as follows.
Predicted Tottenham XI vs West Brom (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Trippier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Wanyama; Son, Alli, Eriksen; Kane
