Tottenham Hotspur’s South Korean winger Yang Min-hyeok is set to complete a season-long loan move to Belgian Pro League side KVC Westerlo, according to Sacha Tavolieri.
The 20-year-old international has completed his medical, with a full agreement reached between Spurs and Westerlo.
Yang joined Tottenham Hotspur from Gangwon FC in July 2024 after a breakout campaign in K League 1. He scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 38 appearances, becoming the youngest player in K League history to win the Player of the Month award and earning the K League 1 Young Player of the Year title.
Since moving permanently to European football in January 2025, Tottenham’s strategy for the South Korea international has focused on ensuring regular senior playing time.
Yang previously gained experience in English football with consecutive Championship loan spells at Queens Park Rangers, Portsmouth, and Coventry City.
During those stints, he showed flashes of his explosive speed and dribbling, including a dramatic 98th-minute winner for Portsmouth against Charlton Athletic.
However, with fierce competition in Tottenham’s frontline, the North London club decided that a full season in Belgium’s top flight is the ideal next step for Yang’s development.
KVC Westerlo have a strong reputation for nurturing young attacking talent and can offer Yang a regular starting role on the wing.
The Belgian Pro League’s attacking style should suit Yang’s strengths. Able to operate on either flank as a winger or inside forward, his spatial awareness and quick dribbling will give Westerlo an immediate boost.
With all medical checks completed and paperwork approved by both clubs, final administrative details are expected to be completed soon.
An official announcement confirming Yang’s arrival at Het Kuipje is expected in the coming days, marking a new chapter in the young South Korean’s development.
