Tottenham Hotspur’s highly rated young striker Mason Melia is set to embark on the next stage of his development, with a loan move expected to be finalised within the coming week, according to Tom Barclay.

Having spent his initial period in London adjusting to life at Hotspur Way and training alongside the Spurs first-team squad, the coaching staff believe the forward is ready for regular senior football.
A campaign in the Championship offers the ideal testing ground, providing high-intensity minutes that U21 football cannot match, preparing him for the pressing demands of Premier League action, and keeping his development close to home so Tottenham can closely monitor his progress.
