Tottenham’s top U18 prospects: The academy stars making waves

Tottenham Hotspur has several standout talents, some of whom have progressed from the academy to the senior team.

Read on as we look at the best five U18 players at the club.

Mikey Moore

The 17-year-old is arguably the most talented U18 player in Tottenham’s ranks, given his progression.

He has the flair to get past markers, strong and clinical traits that have helped him break into the first team.

Moore is the youngest Spurs player to play in the Premier League, and is England’s youngest ever scorer in a major European competition.

He has now completed a loan move to Scottish giants Rangers.

Jun’ai Byfield

The 16-year-old defender is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in the Spurs academy.

He was invited to train with the first team by former manager Ange Postecoglou and was also included in the pre-season tour squad to Hong Kong and Korea.

Byfield is good with the ball at his feet, athletic, powerful and composed. He has the potential to be a world-class centre-back.

Luca Williams-Barnett

Williams-Barnett plays as a midfielder or forward and is one of the best youngsters in English football.

He is two-footed, and ‘known for his dribbling and spectacular finishing’.

The England youth international scored 19 goals in 20 U18 Premier League games last term – the most of any Spurs player and the second highest in the division.

Malachi Hardy

He joined Spurs at eight and was promoted to the U18s in 2024. The talented defender can play at centre-back or right full-back.

He possesses leadership qualities, having served as captain of England U16s and is comfortable in possession. He also has the height and strength to become a commanding centre-back.

George Feeney

He joined Tottenham last summer from Northern Ireland outfit Glentoran.

He quickly established himself as a regular for the U18s, featuring in 21 league games and providing 10 goal involvements last term.

His versatility has caught the eye, operating effectively across various midfield roles.
