Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Michel Vorm has admitted that Tuesday night’s 0-0 draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light was two points dropped rather than one gained.
The North London side dominated affairs against the relegation-threatened hosts but could not break the deadlock and as such had to make do with a solitary point.
The Dutch goalkeeper was deputising for the sick Hugo Lloris, who missed the trip to the North East due to illness.
Vorm has confessed that the fact that none of Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal won their games also made the frustration of not being able to break Sunderland down harder to take.
“We lost two points tonight, definitely and it’s so tight at the top of the league, you really want to win games like this,” he told the club’s official website.
“You then come back into the dressing room and see other teams have dropped points that makes it harder.”
Vorm has been restricted to limited cameos in the Spurs starting XI since moving to White Hart Lane from Swansea City, but the goalkeeper was barely troubled against Sunderland.
Spurs will look to put the record straight at the weekend by beating Middlesbrough and keeping the club’s Premier League title aspirations alive.
